OUR

 Vision

CROSSVIEW CHRISTIAN CHURCH IS A DIVERSE COMMUNITY,
GROWING AS ONE FAMILY, SHARING LIFE IN THE WORD.

Go. Grow. glorify God.

HERE IS HOW WE MAKE THIS A REALITY

MATTHEW 28:18-20
GO

We go into our communities, families, and the world to make disciples by telling the story of the gospel.

GROW

We grow in our relationship with God by following his word and the Holy Spirit to speak into our lives.

GLORIFY GOD

We glorify God by staying connected to Him and loving others as we make His name known in all the earth.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

CREATION

Genesis 1, Genesis 18:14, I John 3:20, Jeremiah 23:23-24, Malachi 3:6

Genesis 1, Genesis 18:14, I John 3:20, Jeremiah 23:23-24, Malachi 3:6

God exists as one God in three persons. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all powerful, all knowing, ever present, and unchanging. God always has been and always will be. God created a good world free of sin and brokenness. His intention was for humans to live in that good Garden walking side by side with Him every day. God created humans in His own image with value and worth. We were made to live in fellowship with God as the supreme object of His creation.

REBELLION

Genesis 3

God’s children stopped trusting Him and were disobedient in the Garden. Humans became separated from God as a result of that disobedience and were removed from the perfect world God had created. Since Adam and Eve, humans have continued that rebellion and think their ways are better than God’s ways. As a result, we live in a broken world and cannot attain a right relationship with God on our own.

RESCUE

II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21, Isaiah 9:2-7

Even though humans rebelled against God and became separated from Him, God had a plan to win back His creation. The Bible, which is composed of the Old and New Testaments, tells us of a God who is constantly pursuing His children. The Bible was written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible was inspired by God, is true and without error. The Bible is the story of how God worked through His people, the Israelites, to bring the Savior into the world at just the right time. That Savior, Jesus, brought about redemption for all mankind.

REDEMPTION

John 3:16, Matthew 1:18-23, I Timothy 3:16, Colossians 2:9, Hebrews 7: 22-28

Because we live in a broken world and cannot attain a right relationship with God on our own, Jesus left His throne and came to live with us. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, both fully divine and fully human. He lived a perfect life on Earth, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead. He overcame sin, death, and evil to set the world right. He ushered in the Kingdom of God that we see a glimpse of here and now and we’ll see fully when He returns.

RELATIONSHIP

Romans 8:9-16, Galatians 3:26-28, Ephesians 1:22-23, I Corinthians 12:12-14, Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

The Bible goes on to tell us how Jesus returned to Heaven after He rose from the dead and sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within those who are a part of Christ’s Church. The Holy Spirit lives within us and guides believers to truth and understanding, provides strength for living in a broken world, and gives us spiritual gifts. The Church is the body of Christ made up of all people who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The local church is a body of believers who regularly gather together and devote themselves to God’s Word, prayer, building community with one another, and taking communion together. We believe the people of the local church acknowledge their acceptance of Jesus as Savior by being immersed through baptism.

RESTORATION

Revelation 21 & 22, John 14:1-3, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, 1 John 2:28

The broken world has been longing for God to make things right again, the way it was intended in the beginning. Christ will return and restore all the earth. There will be no more pain, sadness, death or tears. He will make all things new and His children will live forever with Him.

OUR CORE VALUES

CHRIST CENTERED

To be centered in Christ is to focus on Him as the most important priority in our lives. We are convinced that Jesus Christ and His Word are the answer to issues people face in our church and community. We believe that Jesus is the pattern for living our lives as we follow Him.

INCLUSIVE

We will include all people from every social, economic, ethnic, and age status and every denominational background. We need to reflect our acceptance and sincere love towards our fellow human beings as Jesus did.

HOLISTIC

Our ministries need not only present the spiritual “BREAD OF LIFE” but also the physical bread that sustains life. More than just trying to bring everyone to heaven, we must also bring a little heaven to everyone. We should help where help is needed in our community.

RELEVANT

To be relevant in a world under constant change means to be flexible and willing to adapt. While the Word of God is unchanging and timeless, our methods and expressions of faith are flexible and relevant to our neighborhood.

RELATIONAL

Our best opportunity for proclaiming the good news comes from our relationship with others. Jesus came in the flesh and lived among people; we should also be among the people seeking opportunities to demonstrate the love of Christ in real ways.

MISSIONAL

It is not enough for us to be a Church that supports mission; we must ourselves be active in God’s mission of making and teaching disciples.

INFUSED BY THE SPIRIT

Our worship and service will be Spirit filled. We must not only know about God but also experience God. We will be sensitive to the gentle nudges of the Holy Spirit, recognizing and using the gifts and fruit of the Spirit that are given to us.
